True Colors Art Show

True Colors Art Show

Presented by Fox Fine Jewelry at Fox Fine Jewelry

Phillip Zubiate III and Eileen Maloney will display their art in “True Colors” at Fox Fine Jewelry from November 17 – January 16, 2017, with an Art Reception on November 19 from 6 – 8:00pm. Musician Corinn Conant will sing and play guitar during the reception.

Phillip Zubiate III took his first drawing lessons from the 1960’s “Learn to Draw” TV show; later he learned by copying comic book drawings. During high school he was invited to study at the Los Angeles Art Center School of Design after winning the Bank of America award for upcoming new artist.

Since joining the Colored Pencil Society of America in 2013, he has attained the highly regarded Signature Status and has won numerous awards. Says colored pencil artist Zubiate, “My art pieces have to convey artistic knowledge, design, difficulty, color theory, and most of all emotion.”

Eileen Maloney received her most notable award when her painting of strawberries dripping with chocolate and wet paint won the 2016 Strawberry Festival’s Poster Contest. An artist since she was young, Maloney got creative so she could continue her art while she was a teacher and mother of young children. Her classrooms were filled with art from a multitude of art projects, she was the set designer for school productions and she painted sets for the Camarillo Community Theater.

Now retired, she enjoys painting fruits, vegetables and flowers in her home studio. Says Maloney of her watercolors, “I always use bright colors and lots of detail. That’s how people recognize my work nowadays.”
