Sergio Mendes, A Celebration of 50 years of Brasil 66

Sergio Mendes, A Celebration of 50 years of Brasil 66

Presented by Ventura Music Festival at Oxnard Performing Arts Center

Producer, composer, keyboardist, vocalist and three-time Grammy winner, Sergio Mendes’ influence on music has spanned 50 years and continues to evolve. In the past decade he’s collaborated with a Who’s Who of contemporary pop, rock, urban and hip-hop artists, including Justin Timberlake, John Legend and the Black Eyed Peas. 2012 saw him win an Oscar nomination for the hugely popular music of the animated hit, "Rio." It was, of course, the album Herb Alpert Presents Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66 that sparked global stardom and landed Mendes and the album in the Grammy Hall of Fame. It’s been a long run for this iconic artist, and his cool factor continues to be ever present. He’s playing the Olympics this summer, touring worldwide with a large company of musicians and singers, and he’s bringing the celebration to Ventura on July 22!
