Jerry Mahoney is a long time Ventura resident who is mostly a self-taught artist focusing on watercolors. Painting for decades, he has received several first place awards at juried shows as well as being a featured artist at local galleries.

Surfing since the late 1950’s, he travelled the world piloting large ships and sailboats as a professional navigator in ten days of celestial navigation.

A lifetime of hiking, backpacking and rock climbing all over the world influences his watercolors.

A love of nature, the ocean and the central coast has inspired his watercolors in which he tries to capture moments of beauty, energy and serenity.
