Vita Art Center’s art classes provide high-quality enrichment experiences in the visual arts for children & teens. Instructors Colin Gray and Mary Perez will work with the kids to create their own unique handmade journal. They will then fill their journals with drawings. Instructor Colin Gray will engage the kids in fun drawing projects that encourage creative expression, concept development, and advancement of basic drawing skills. Students draw 3D objects and increase their knowledge of the effects of light on form, volume and line. Participants should dress in clothes they don’t mind getting dirty. Young artists will rethink everyday discarded and found objects and give them a new life by up-cycling them into amazing pieces of art. Students explore, combine, layer and experiment with both traditional and nontraditional materials to create one-of-a-kind compositions and fabulous 3D formations.
