About Exquisite Corpse Game:
The chance-based drawing game known as the Exquisite Corpse involved each participant creating a portion of a human figure without seeing what others had created, which resulted in fantastic distortions, juxtapositions and surreal composite figures. The technique was invented by artists and poets associated with the Surrealism Movement that was founded by Andre Breton in Europe after WWI and continued into the 1950s.
The “Truly Exquisite” art exhibit is a fund-raising group exhibition that includes both emerging and established artists creating a component of a collaborative Exquisite Corpse. The pieces will be exhibited for the month of December and sold through a silent auction at the December 4 Gala.
Vita Art Center offers local youth a safe and nurturing environment during their least structured and, therefore, highest-risk times: after school, on weekends, and during the summer months.
